Loading Paper

Paper roll size is  3 1/8ths Inches X 230 Feet.

The printer uses thermal paper and does not use ink. Plain paper will not work and will come out blank.

  • Open the lid of the printer using the latch on the top
  • Remove the spent roll core
  • Load thermal paper glossy side facing the front of the printer (see image)
  • Hold a leader (approx. 2 inches) and close the lid, making sure it is fully latched

NOTE: Loading the paper backwards will produce a blank receipt and may cause printer feed issues.

Front Panel Lights

When the printer boots up, all the lights on the front panel blink. This is normal.

NOTE: Additional front panel lights can be found in the attached Epson service guide.

There are two lights that will keep the printer from connecting to the POS:

Error LED (Orange) -- This light indicates there is an error with the printer.

  • Turn off the printer
  • Open the lid and reload the paper
  • Turn the printer back on
  • If the error light returns you may need to have your printer serviced
    • Contact Rezku Support for options

Paper-Out LED (Orange) -- This light indicates that the paper is out.

  • Use the latch to open the lid of the printer
  • Remove the spent core
  • Replace the paper using the correct loading technique
  • The paper out LED should clear

NOTE: When these lights appear on the printer, POS printing will cease to function. You will get an error on the POS and the printer will show disconnected in printer settings. Follow the above steps to clear the error and printing should resume automatically.

Connecting the TMm30 Printer

For receipt printer functions, you can connect the printer via LAN or Bluetooth. For kitchen printing only LAN should be used, as Bluetooth is a short-range connection subject to wireless interference.

LAN Connection

Make sure your network is set up per Rezku specifications. The printer must be connected to your dedicated POS network to function properly.

  • Turn the printer off
  • Remove the bottom cover on the printer to expose the connections
  • Identify the LAN (ethernet) port on the bottom of the printer (see image)
  • Plug a network cable from your POS network into the LAN port on the printer
  • Turn the printer on
  • An indicator light below the LAN port on the printer should blink, indicating a connection
  • The printer will print the IP address it receives from your POS network router. (See example)

Location of the LAN port and network indicator light.

The IP address you receive may be slightly different, but it needs to match your POS router, indicating they are on the same network.

After the printer is connected to the network, follow the steps for configuring printers in Rezku POS.

Bluetooth Connection

TM-M30-III (3rd Gen) printers must be put into BT pairing mode first. This is not required for the TM-M30-II (2nd Gen).

Steps:

1. Turn the printer OFF (it might take a minute)

2. Turn the printer ON and wait for all lights to stop blinking.

3. Open the paper roll lid

4. With the lid open, hold the FEED button until the paper roll light flashes

5. Close the lid and a paper will print that says "Next Action". (The paper can be disregarded)

6. Short press then long press the FEED button until a second paper prints with a QR code. (The paper can be disregarded).

7. The printer should now show up in the iPad Bluetooth settings as an available device.

Pairing Bluetooth Printer to iPad

Bluetooth is authorized for use for receipt printing functionality for stationary POS only. Bluetooth is a low-power wireless signal for use within a range of 3-5 feet (subject to interference) and not through walls.

NOTE: Bluetooth printers can only be connected to one POS iPad.

To pair your iPad to the printer using Bluetooth:

1. From the iPad desktop, tap the iPad Settings app

2. On the left side menu, tap Bluetooth and make sure it is on.

Resetting the Printer

If the printer doesn't show up as an available device in iPad Bluetooth settings you can perform a printer reset.

To reset the printer:

  1. Turn the printer off and make sure the lid is closed
  2. Take off the bottom cover to expose the connections
  3. Hold down the SW button with a ballpoint pen
  4. WHILE STILL HOLDING the SW button, turn the printer back on
  5. KEEP HOLDING the SW button until the printer prints a reset confirmation message
  6. Release the SW button and the printer will restart
  7. Check the device list in iPad Bluetooth settings and the printer should appear

Printing The Status Sheet

The status sheet has various printer information on it, including the MAC address. The MAC address is a unique code used to identify the printer during POS configuration. NOTE: We instruct all users to label the printers with the MAC address. This will streamline setup when connecting to printers.

There are two methods to print the Status Sheet:

Method 1:

  1. Turn the printer on
  2. Take off the bottom cover to expose the connections
  3. Hold down the SW button with a ballpoint pen for 3 seconds
  4. The status sheet should print

Method 2:

  1. Turn the printer on
  2. Open the cover using the latch
  3. Hold down the feed button (inside the cover) for 3 seconds
  4. Close the cover
  5. The status sheet should print
