Ubiquity Gateway and Access Point Setup




Quick Facts:

  • Internet is provided by your internet service provider and comes through the modem they provide.
    • The internet allows communication with off-site systems such as web pages, credit card processing servers and the Rezku servers.
  • You will be connecting the Ubiquiti Gateway and access point to your local network.
    • The local network provides communication between your POS equipment on side (POS stations and printers).


Networking Considerations

Every site is unique and requires special attention to running cables and placing wifi access points. Please refer to the video above for additional detail.


Ubiquiti Network Connections

  1. Connect the gateway and switch and allow them to boot up.
  2. Connect an ethernet cable from the WAN (wide area network) port of the gateway to your internet modem.
  3. Connect an ethernet cable from the LAN port (local area network) port of the gateway to your multi-port switch.
  4. Connect the Wifi Access Point (AP) to the switch and to power (see diagram).





Steps After the Network is Online

  1. Connect your POS iPads to devices to the Rezku POS wifi network
  2. Plug LAN based printers into the switch
