Pizza (Pizza Products)

Pizza products are a special type of product designed specifically for ordering pizzas. Pizza products support many pizza specific functions that are exclusive to pizza and are set up differently than regular products.


Pizza Product Settings

The settings tabs for pizza products are:

  • General Settings
  • Pizza Products
  • Pizza Modifiers
  • Modifier Prices
  • "Extra" Prices


General Settings

  • Pizza Side Settings
    • Enable Halves -- When enabled you can order half pizzas. Each half can be configured with it's own toppings.
    • NOTE: Halves must be enabled in the modifier group properties to configure modifiers in a specific group by half.
    • Enable Quarters -- When enabled you can order quarter-pizzas. Each quarter can be configured with it's own toppings.
    • Pricing -- Choose the pricing model used for pizza halvs.
      • Most Expensive Pizza Product -- Sets the price of the pizza using the independently calculated price of each half of the pizza.
      • Most Expensive Half -- Sets the price of the pizza using the price of modifiers on the more expensive half as if they were applied to the whole pizza. Modifiers on the cheaper half are set to "$0.00".
  • Pizza Size Settings -- Specify a variation group to use for pizza sizes. Variations are created in Product Management > Variations
    • Size Variation Group (select) -- Select from an existing variation group in the system
    • Variation Name -- Name of each variation in the selected group.
    • + Add Variation -- Click to add another variation to the group. (You can also add in Variations settings).
  • Save changes -- click here to save your settings. Settings are not saved automatically.


Pizza Size Settings

Under Variation Name, click Edit to set pizza specific size settings:

  • Variation Name
  • Inches
  • Slices
  • Fees
  • Prices (not used, as size prices are set on a per-product basis under "Edit price Matrix")



Pizza Products

In Pizza Products you can add pizzas to your menu. Pizza products do not appear in Product Management > Menu Design.


To Add Pizza Products:

  • Click the Add Pizza Product button
  • In the new Pizza Product window, most of the settings are the same as for regular products, with a few additions.
    • Name -- Product name
    • Price -- Price (value entered here is not used, as the price comes from the variation [size] of the pizza)
    • Cost -- Product cost (likely unused as the cost varies based on the variation [size] of the pizza)
      • Use Ingredient Cost -- Toggle on to use ingredient costing (unlikely to be used as ingredient amount used is based on variant [size])
    • Free Toppings -- Enter the number of free toppings the customer can select without changing the base price.
      • NOTE: Free toppings can only be selected from modifier groups that have "free toppings" enabled.
    • Taxes -- Toggle on appropriate taxes for this product. Taxes are set up in Product Management > Product Taxes.
    • Printers -- Toggle on print queues this product will print to.
    • Parent Menu -- Select the parent menu this product will appear in on the POS. (note that pizza products do not appear in Menu Design inside the parent menu selected)
    • Reporting Category -- Select the category sales of this product are reported to. Categories are configured in Reporting > Categories.
    • Available for Online Ordering -- Toggle on to make this product available in your Rezku OLO.
    • Online Price -- Set the price for Rezku OLO if different than the product price (unused due to variants)
    • 3rd Party Price -- Set the price for 3rd party delivery apps if different than the product price (unused due to variants)
    • SKU -- SKU if used for integrations
    • Calories -- Enter the number of calories (unused due to changes based on variants [size])
    • Kitchen Printer Text -- Enter how the product prints to the kitchen
    • Barcode Number -- Enter barcode if used (unused due to variations)
    • Description -- Enter a description for the product when viewed on the POS
    • Online Description -- Enter a description for the product when viewed online.

Only the product name, parent menu and reporting category are required. Click save when you have completed the form.






To Manage Pizza Products:

Once a pizza product is saved, you can set or edit it's settings.

  • Click a Pizza product to view it's property list.
    • Pizza product properties are closely related to product properties for other types of products.
  • Pizza Product Properties:
    • Edit Basics-- Edit the product name, parent menu, reporting category, description and other settings.
      • The number of included or "free" toppings is also set here in Edit Basics.
    • Edit Appearance -- Set the POS tile color, POS photo, detailed photo and online photo.
    • Edit Default Modifiers -- For specialty pizzas, set the included toppings to default for this product.
    • Edit Price Matrix -- Set the base price for this pizza at ever size available. (IMPORTANT SETTING!)
    • Edit Printers -- Set the print queues this product is sent to when ordered.
    • Edit Ingredients -- Set ingredient usage for this product (likely unused as ingredient amounts change per size and topping)
    • Edit Recipe -- Enter a recipe that can be viewed on the KDS to aid the kitchen.
    • Modifier Matrix -- Set toppings prices per pizza size for this product (likely unused because toppings prices are global. Should be set in Pizza > Modifier Prices
    • Edit Happy Hours -- Unused, because pizza pricing is set by variant, not product.
    • Edit Tags -- Add product tags for sales reporting by tag.
    • Edit Taxes -- Enable sales taxes for this product.
    • Edit Loyalty Points -- Set loyalty points earned for purchase of this product.
    • Edit Discounts -- Specify which product discounts this product qualifies for.
    • Edit Components -- Specify components used for this product for the KDS all day feature. (likely unused).


Pizza Modifiers

Here you will specify global modifiers for pizza products. 

Create the modifiers you will use for pizzas in Product Management > ModifiersThese will typically be things like:

  • Crust type
  • Cheeses
  • Sauces
  • Meat Toppings
  • Veggie Toppings
  • Premium Toppings

Once you have created all of your pizza modifier groups, come here to Pizza > Pizza Modifiers




Setting up Pizza Modifiers

  • Click Add Modifier Group
  • Select one of your pizza modifier groups from the drop down (eg. "Pizza Toppings")
  • Continue this process to add all of your pizza modifier groups
  • Sort the modifiers into the order you want them by clicking and dragging the arrows to the left of the modifier group name.
  • Click Edit Group to change the Modifier group name and properties (min/max, half and half, etc.)
  • Click Edit Modifiers to add or remove modifiers within the group.
  • Click Remove to remove this modifier group from the list. (This does not delete the modifier group from the system.)
  • Click Save Changes to save your current settings


Pizza Modifier Settings

There are additional modifier group settings that apply specifically to pizzas

  • Click Edit Group to view or edit pizza modifier group settings.
    • Half & Half -- Allow items in this modifier group to be applied to halves (or quarters) of pizzas.
    • Half Price Modifiers -- Automatically charge 50% of the standard toppings price to half-toppings
    • Minimum Selection -- Set the minimum (required) number of selections made in this group.
    • Maximum Selection -- Set the maximum number of selections made in this group.
    • Free Toppings -- Enable selections in this modifier group to qualify for free toppings. Free toppings are set at the per-product level in Pizza Products.
    • Pizza Light Option -- Click to enable "light" as a toppings sub-modifier for items in this group.
    • Pizza Extra Option -- Click to enable "Extra" as a toppings sub-modifier for items in this group. NOTE: Extra prices are set up in the "Extras Prices" tab.
    • Submodifier style -- Choose how sub-modifiers display on the POS.
    • Online Submodifier style -- Choose how sub-modifiers display online.


Modifier Prices

In this section you will set the price of modifiers based on the Pizza size. This is a global pricing matrix that applies to all Pizza Products. The main purpose of these settings is to allow you to set toppings prices per size of pizza.



Setting Modifier Prices

  • For each modifier, set the price based on the size by entering it into the corresponding field.
  • Click Save Changes to save your current settings.


"Extra" Prices

In this section you will set up the prices for extra toppings. "Extra" is enabled for modifiers in the modifier group settings. Only modifiers with extra enabled will appear here.

  • For each topping enter the additional up-charge for each size when "extra" is selected.
    • Extra up-charge is added to the standard base price.
  • Click Save Changes to save your current settings.



Multiple Pizza Product Settings

You can now also create multiple instances of pizza settings. This addresses use cases where you have different classes of pizza products that don't obey the exact same rules. Like, Regular Pizzas vs. Calzones. For example, the Calzones may have different sizes and toppings options.


NOTE: Each instance of pizza settings operates individually.


To manage Pizza Settings:

  • Click the drop down next to "Pizza Settings"
  • Choose an existing setting (eg. Deep Dish)
  • Or Click "Add New" to create a new set of pizza settings
