Coupons are discounts with the ability to add additional requirements and restrictions. Coupons can be tied to coupon codes, have expiration dates and use loyalty points.
Add a New Coupon
To add a new coupon:
Click the Add Coupon button
In the Edit Coupon panel:
Coupon Name -- Name the coupon as it will appear on the POS
Fixed Amount / Relative Amount-- Determines if the coupon is a dollar amount or percent
Fixed Amount -- Discount will be in dollars
Relative Amount -- Discount will be a percent of the price
Discount Amount -- Enter the discount amount, either dollars or percent
Coupon Type-- Determines the type of coupon and can not be changed after saving
NOTE: Different coupon types reveal additional fields to fill out
Coupon Limit -- Limit the number of this coupon that can be applied to the same order
Priority -- When multiple coupons are used, set the priority. Coupons can not be "stacked" and used for multiple coupons.
Coupon Code -- Enter a coupon code that can be used to look up the coupon or to apply the coupon online
Auto Apply -- Determines whether the coupon is auto-applied when the correct combination of products are added to the order.
Loyalty Point Cost -- Set a loyalty point cost if the coupon is to be a loyalty bonus
Available for Online Ordering -- Determines if the coupon will be available to be applied for online orders
CRM only -- When selected, the coupon can only be applied if a customer has been added to the order
Active Date Range -- Click the calendar to select the first and last day that the coupon is active
Coupon Hours -- When enabled, set the hours of the day that the coupon is active
Order Type -- Select the order types that coupon can be used for. Blue is enabled.
Select Days -- Select the days that the coupon is active. Blue is enabled.
Coupons have lots of parameters that can be set, compared to discounts
Coupon Types
The coupon type determines the kind of promotion that will be tied to the coupon. Coupon types can not be changed after the coupon is initially saved.
Simple
This coupon resembles an order discount, but includes all of the additional coupon parameters. An order discount means the coupon applies to the entire order on the POS.
Product
This coupon resembles a product discount but includes all of the additional coupon parameters. A product discount requires the selection of qualifying products.
Click the Choose Products button
In the Choose Products panel:
Select the products the coupon can be used with
Save on Multiple
Save on Multiple allows you to discount bulk-ordering of qualifying products. For example, "Buy 2 medium pizzas and get 15% off." Save on multiple is a product-type discount
Min Quantity -- Set the minimum quantity of required products that must be added to the order
Max Quantity -- Set the maximum number of required products that can be part of the discount
Choose Products -- Select the products that are required for purchase, to qualify for the discount.
BOGO
BOGO stands for Buy-One-Get-One. BOGO coupons allow you to discount a subsequent purchase of a product. For example, "Buy one side at the regular price and, get up to 4 additional sides 15% off." BOGO is a product-type discount.
Required Quantity -- Set the required quantity of products that must be added to "unlock" the discount.
Offer Quantity -- Set the number of products that qualify for discounting once the requirement has been met.
Choose Products -- Select the products that will be part of this coupon.
Buy X Get Y
Whereas BOGO provides a discount for like products Buy X Get Y gives you the option of two lists of products. X is the required products, Y are the offer products. An example for this type of coupon is "Buy 2 Entrees, and get up to 2 kid's meals for half price".
Required Quantity -- Set the number of required products to "unlock" the discount
Choose Required Products -- Select the required products in the menu
Offer Quantity -- Set the number of offer products available for the discount
Choose Offer Products -- Select the offer products that will be discounted
Selecting Products and Modifiers For Coupons
For Save on Multiple, BOGO, and Buy X Get Y discounts you will use the Choose Products panel to make selections.
In Choose Products:
To select an entire menu, Set the Apply toggle to the green "on" position.
Click the arrow next to a menu name to view the contents
Select individual products by setting the Apply toggle "on"
Click a product to view modifiers and variants for the product
Click the Edit icon next to the modifier or variant to expand the options
Selection Requirement
All -- This option requires all modifiers to be selected for the product to qualify
Any -- This option allows any of the modifiers to be selected for the product to qualify
Min/Max -- Set the minimum or maximum number of modifiers that can be selected for this product
Modifier Toggles -- Select the toggle next to each modifier to include it in the coupon.
Bundle Type Coupons
Bundle coupons work a little differently than the other coupon types. Bundle Coupons allow you to group multiple products together for a coupon (discount).
Setting Bundle Coupon Discount
Discount Amount -- Select the bundle discount type:
Fixed -- Apply a fixed price discount to the products included in the bundle coupon.
Relative (%) -- Apply a percent-off discount to the products included in the bundle coupon.
Target Price -- Ignore the regular price of the combined products in the bundle and sell at a target price.
Enter the amount of the discount in the field below.
Setting Coupon Bundle Products
Bundle items are grouped into product sets. When the coupon is activated on the POS, the coupon will ask you to enter a choice for each set.
EXAMPLE: "Choose any 2 Large Pizzas and a 2-Liter soda for 39.99". On the POS the operator will be asked to pick pizza 1, pizza 2 and the soda choice. Assisting the operator to facilitate the correct items to apply the coupon's discount.
Add Product Set – Click here to create a new group of products included in the coupon.
Set Name – Name this set of products (eg. "Pizza 1 Choice")
Products – Click the Select Products button to choose products to include in the named set.
Trash Can (Icon) – Click to delete the set.
Click + Add Product Set to add additional product sets.
The rest of the bundle coupon settings are shared with other coupon types. Click Save to save your Bundle Coupon.
