When enabled, all orders from all channels (online, in house, call in, delivery etc.) will be numbed sequentially. This helps the kitchen get a better sense of the sequence in which orders from multiple channels reached the kitchen.
NOTE: Sequential order numbering is a seperate feature from manually applied or auto-applied order numbers that are used as a label for the order.
Sequential order numbering is enabled in back office > Settings > Order Settings > Ordering Options
How It Works
When enabled, all order numbers will be synchronously generated by the master register when an action is taken that can cause the Order to be sent to the kitchen (KDS or printers).
When an order is sent, the POS will contact the master POS register over the local network to get a number for that order.
Example: Slave POS station retrieving order number from the Master.
Example: Sequential order numbers provided for two recent orders
NOTE: For reliable results and speed of operation, sequential numbering requires a stable local network.
Example: Order sort showing "order number" as an option.
