How to Take an Order

The New Order Screen


Getting Started

Enter your PIN to unlock the system.


The default screen after entering your PIN is the New Order Screen


On the LEFT side of the New Order Screen is the Order Builder

Order Builder -- Where you see the products and modifiers added to the order.



On the RIGHT side of the New Order Screen is the Menu Area

Menu Area -- Products and sub-menus organized for accessing, to add products to the order.


The Order Builder


Buttons at the top of the Order Builder:

Default Order Type -- Tap to see additional order types you can select.

Order Name -- Tap to name the order. Order is named based on Order-Type Input, set in Back Office.

  • Text -- Free alphanumeric text field
  • Number -- Free numeric text field. Auto-populates if "Automatic Numbering" is turned on under Settings in the Rezku POS app.
  • Customer -- Uses the CRM system to add a customer to the order.

Add Customer Button -- If enabled in Back Office > Settings > Order Settings, the Add Customer Button can be visible at all times to add a CRM customer to the order.


Info in the Order Builder:

In the order builder, every product added to the order is listed.

Item -- Name of the items as they appear on the POS

QTY -- The quantity of the product added to the order

Unit Price -- The price of a single quantity of the product

Amount -- The unit price multiplied by the quantity of the product

Modifiers -- Modifiers and their price appear below the associated product

Discount -- If there is a product discount it will appear with the percent/dollar amount discounted

Seats -- If there are seats in the order they will appear in the order builder


Order Totals:

Near the bottom of the order builder are the totals.

Order Discount -- If there it an order discount the name and amount discounted will appear above the sub-total

Subtotal -- Total of all products and modifiers (and discounts) in the order added together

Tax -- Total tax applied per tax rules. (Inclusive taxes will not appear here)

Total -- Total that must be paid by the guest to settle the order.



The Menu Area


Main Menu Buttons

On the left side, near the bottom of the screen is the top-level menus. Swipe left or right to see more menus if they do not all fit on one page.


Product and Submenu Tiles

Above the main menu buttons are the tiles for products and submenus.


Submenus -- Tap a submenu to see the products and submenus within it.

Products -- Tap a product to add it to the order.


Modifiers Window

When you tap a product in the menu that has required modifiers you will see the modifiers window.

  • Required modifiers have a red star next to the group name.
  • Variations appear at the top of the modifier window. They are also required but do not have a red star indicating
  • Tap "Finish" on the modifier window when you have selected all of the requirements.
    • The system will prevent you from adding a product to an order unless all of the variations or required modifiers are selected for the product.


Editing a product

To edit a product that has been added to an order tap the product in the order builder. You can now change the product properties:

  • Change the selected modifiers and modifier quantities
  • Change the product quantity
  • Delete the product
  • Change the price on the fly (with permission enabled)
  • Apply a product discount
  • Change or select the course
  • Select a seat for the product (when the order has seats)
  • Add product notes that will print to the kitchen


Product Swipe Shortcuts

In the Order Builder there are two shortcuts. Swipe the product left or right to reveal the shortcut buttons.

  • Swipe Right -- Re-order a product (increase quantity +1)
  • Swipe Left -- Delete a product from the order. (This deletes ALL of that product, even if the quantity is greater than 1.)


There are other things you can do with an order holding, sending or checking out, located under the More button.


When you have completed the order (for now) you have two choices:

  • If the guest is not ready to pay and may add to the order later tap the HOLD button.
    • NOTE: Holding does not send the order to the kitchen. If their order has food you want the kitchen to start making tap SEND and then HOLD.
  • If the guest is ready to pay, tap the CHECKOUT button.
    • Tapping the Checkout button will send any un-sent items to the kitchen
