How to use Floor Plan Designer (Floorplan)

Floor Plan Designer

This tool allows you to create a bird's eye view of your restaurant. You can have multiple floor plans, allowing servers to manage orders by tapping on a table.


TIP: Contact Rezku support to assist with building your floor plans. On a piece of paper, sketch up squares and circles to represent tables and where they will be when viewed on the iPad.


To access the Floor Plan Designer, log into Rezku POS Back Office and Click Floor Plan in the left-side navigation.



Building a Floor Plan

In the FloorPlan Designer you will create floors and objects to simulate your restaurant's layout.


Create a New Floor

Before you get started adding walls and furniture, you need to create a room. To create your first floor, click the small + tab and name the Room (e.g. "Main Floor")


To add additional floors/rooms, follow the same process.



Designing Your Room

The Floor Plan Designer has many types objects available to add to the room. Objects are split into three tabs. Furniture, Structures and Miscellaneous.


There is also a background tab where you can add an image or texture to the background of the floor.


NOTE: Only Furniture (tables, booths, seats, etc.) can be used to take an order.


Setting the background

On the background tab:

  • Select a preset tile texture.
    • Select "Tile Image" to fill the floor.
  • Click the color chip to select a solid color instead.
  • Select Upload Background to load your own texture or entire floor image. TIP: Do not include tables to the uploaded image, as they will not be selectable as an image.
  • Click Remove Background to remove the current background.



Adding Objects

To add an object from the sidebar to your floor plan, click the object in the left panel and drag it into the room.

  • To select the object click it.
    • The blue highlight indicates the selected object.
  • To move, click and drag to reposition.
  • When an object is selected, you can adjust the size and rotation to fit the proportions of your room
    • Change setting in the properties strip along the side of the screen.
  • You can duplicate an object by clicking the duplicate button in the object properties.
  • Delete an object by clicking the delete button.

Structure Objects

The Structure tab includes items like walls and doors that can be added to your floor plan. To add a structure object to your room, click and drag the object into the room. Set the position, size and rotation using the property controls.


Miscellaneous Objects

The Miscellaneous tab includes items like decor items, signs and text. To add an object to your room, click and drag the object into the room. Set the position, size and rotation using the property controls.


Furniture Objects

The Furniture tab includes items like tables, seats and booths. To add a furniture object to your room, click the structure tab and drag the object into the room. Set the position, size and rotation using the property controls.


These are the only objects that an be selected to take an order.

  • Furniture objects have additional properties regarding seats.
    • Be sure to set the number of seats at the table, as this will be used when taking an order on the POS.
    • You can also set the orientation of the seats by excluding seats from one or more sides of the table (Top, Bottom, Left, Right).



Saving your Floor Plan

When you have completed setup, make sure to click the Save button before closing the browser tab, or your design will not be saved.


To exit the Floor Plan Designer without saving, click the Exit button.
