Print Queues



Print queues are used to make sure products sent from the POS to the kitchen print out at the right stations. A Print Queue can be also be used with the Rezku POS Kitchen Display System (KDS) instead of printing to paper. 


Setup of print queues is composed of 3 elements

  1. Creating the print queue
  2. Assigning products to the queue
  3. Assigning the queue to a device (printer or KDS)


Adding a Print Queue

  • Click the Add Print Queue button at the top of the screen

  • In the Edit Print Queue panel:

    • Name-- Name the Print Queue
      • The name should be based on the station it will be associated with (e.g, Kitchen, Bar, Grill)
    • Smart KDS -- Select if the queue will be used with Rezku Smart KDS instead of a printer
      • Route To -- When Smart KDS is selected, you have to option to route bumped tickets to another KDS station.
    • Global -- Select if the print queue device assignment will be global. This means all tablets obey the same printer rules.
      • If deselected, queue assignments will be made locally for each POS station.


To return to these settings after saving, click the Edit Details button next to the queue name.


Select Add Print Queue to add a new print queue


Set the printer name, KDS and Global settings


If Smart KDS is selected, you have the option to route to another Smart KDS queue when tickets are bumped, by selecting the queue name under "Route To".


Choosing Products for Print Queues

After creating a Print Queue, products need to be assigned to the queue so they are sent to the correct station when sent to the kitchen.


  • Click the Choose Products button next to the Print Queue name
  • Select the products assigned to the queue using the toggles
