Coursing

Coursing

What is Coursing?

Some restaurants serve meals in courses, e.g. Apps, Entree, Desert. The guests choose an item from each course before dining and the staff time the food for the guest so it arrives on time.

Courses are set up in Back Office > Product Management > Courses

Coursing On the POS

Courses are shown below the modifiers for the product. If a default course is not selected, servers need to manually select a course. The default course can be changed by selecting a different course.

When coursed orders are sent to the kitchen the printed ticket will be organized, grouping all the items by course.

Courses are listed after the modifiers on the POS

POS Coursing Functions

Coursing functions are found under the More Button, in the bottom left of the order builder.

Send by Course

Optionally, rather than sending the entire ticket, servers can send just the current course to the kitchen.

  • Tap Send By Course
  • Select the course to send to the kitchen

Fire by Course

The Fire button is used by servers to notify the kitchen when it is time to fire the next course.

  • Tap the Fire button
  • Select the course to fire
  • NOTE: If "Fire By Course" is not enabled for the course in Back Office, it will not be available as an option on the POS.
    • To edit a course in Back Office go to Product Management > Coursing > [Course Name] > Edit Details > Enable Fire by Course.
